Fahadh’s Telugu Movie Has Now Collected Balakrishna, Rajamouli and Jr NTR Around One Release

Fahadh Faasil’s Telugu promotional campaign has developed a funny side plot: the people orbiting the movie keep getting more famous. Balakrishna already narrates its Telugu trailer. SS Rajamouli has been travelling with the campaign. Now Jr NTR is scheduled to attend Tuesday’s Hyderabad pre-release event for Don’t Trouble the Trouble.

The actual movie remains a smaller, stranger proposition than that guest list suggests. Fahadh plays Suri, a street magician whose tricks are fake until he meets Divya, a child with powers that very much are not. Ssara Palekar plays Divya, Shashank Yeleti directs, and Arka Media Works and Showing Business back the fantasy entertainer. It opens October 2.

Its Telugu campaign has been deliberately built around familiar star voices and faces without pretending they are cast members. Balakrishna narrates the Telugu trailer and lands on the dialogue that inspired the title; Mohanlal performs the equivalent job for Malayalam and Kamal Haasan for Tamil. Rajamouli, who presents the film, was in Kochi on Monday promoting it, while Jr NTR now takes the Hyderabad slot Tuesday.

That is useful positioning for Fahadh because this is his first Telugu production as the lead rather than the antagonist Telugu audiences know from Pushpa. The movie still has to sell Suri and Divya when the lights go down. Until then, its marketing trick is working exactly like stage magic: keep directing the audience’s eyes toward the next surprising person who walks onstage.
