Rashmika Went to Milan in a Black Dress That Took 350 Hours to Make
Rashmika Mandanna made her Vogue World Milan debut in a sculptural black Anamika Khanna couture gown that Vogue says took roughly 350 hours to create.

Rashmika Mandanna's first Vogue World appearance came almost entirely in black—but the number attached to the dress is what makes you look twice: about 350 hours of work. She arrived in Milan wearing a sculptural Anamika Khanna gown built from lace, corsetry, appliqué, metal detailing and hand-finished embellishment.

The gown comes from Khanna's Moonlit Palace couture collection. Against the monochrome base, dimensional lace and sheer patchwork create most of the texture, while sculptural silver embroidery around the waist breaks the black silhouette. Rashmika paired it with Swarovski jewellery and a Gucci bag.

This was also Rashmika's Vogue World debut. Her own Instagram post reduced the whole thing to a much less dramatic sentence—“Your girl is going to work - day 1”—while Vogue put the craftsmanship under the microscope.
Three hundred and fifty hours for a dress worn at one event sounds absurd. That's also exactly why the number works: you see a black gown in a photograph, but the construction behind it represents nearly nine standard forty-hour workweeks of couture labour.
