The first test passenger is a chicken. Chandrayan’s new First Signal gives a group of Mandamarri youngsters a problem: they look at achievers like Allu Arjun and Virat Kohli, decide their own lives need something bigger, and land on an appropriately modest solution — build a rocket and go to the moon.

The joke keeps scaling from there. The glimpse turns ISRO into “MSRO,” follows the group through homemade experiments and gets as far as trying to send a chicken into space. Earlier official motion-poster material had already established the DIY tone around a moon mission assembled with village ingenuity rather than anything resembling an actual aerospace program.

The movie is written and directed by Srinath Chandrashekhar, produced by Praveen Molaka under Simba Screen Stories and presented by Venu Udugula. Shivakumar Dheekonda, Swapna Priyadarshini, Ravi Shivateja, Vamshidhar, Lokesh and Balagam Satyanarayana are among the principal cast. The team launched the glimpse in Hyderabad on Saturday and set the theatrical release for October 30.

What makes the pitch work in seconds is the scale mismatch: a deeply local Telangana setting trying to solve the largest possible travel problem with confidence far ahead of technical expertise. The makers are selling Chandrayan as a comedy-adventure, not science-fiction realism — Mandamarri to the moon, with the disasters between those two points doing most of the work.
